Definition
Thriller Film is a genre that revolves around
anticipation and suspense. The aim for Thrillers is to keep the audience alert
and close on the edge of their seats. The protagonist in these films is set
against a problem – an escape, a mission, or a mystery. No matter what
sub-genre a Thriller film falls into, it will emphasize the danger that the
protagonist faces. The tension with the main problem is built on throughout the
film and leads to a highly stressful climax.
Thriller have:
Thriller are fast past and theirs frequent action. The
hero is very resourceful who must thwart the plans of more powerful and better
equipped villains. Thrillers are based on the antagonist (villain) plot they
are presented more superior, powerful, richer etc than the protagonist (hero).
Thrillers are known for using these 3 main devices. Suspense, red herrings (things
that's deliberate put there to distract you) and cliff hangers.
In most thriller heroes are frequently “hard men”
accustomed to danger. eg police men, they may
also be ordinary citizens me character
Sound
in a Thriller -Music is essential in any film to understand the mood of the
characters and hint at a significant part in the film. In a thriller it adds
suspense and tension. It will often start at a slow paves and the then build up
to make the shots more dramatic for the audience.
Sub-Genres of Thriller
Action thriller in which the work often features a
race against the clock, contain lots of violence and an obvious antagonist. These
films usually contain large amount of guns, explosions and large elaborate set
piece for the action to take place. For example James Bond, the transporter.
Crime thriller is a
particular gender with both elements crime film& thriller that offer a
suspenseful account of a successful or failed. eg takers.
Erotic thriller: in which
consist of erotic and thriller. It has become popular since the 1980 and the
rise of VCR market penetration. eg basic instinct, dressed to kill, color of
right, eyes wide shut, fatal attraction , looking for good bar , Obsess.
Political thriller: in which the hero must ensure the stability of
the government that employs him. eg seven day in may & the day of the
jackal.
Psychological thriller: In which
until the often violent resolution the conflict between the main characters in
mental and emotional, rather than physical. eg Alfred Hitchcock film suspicion
shackle of doubt and stranger on a train

Religious Thriller film
incorporates religious themes, including religious questions, ceremonies, and
objects. Though some films can revolve around a specific church, many Religious
Thrillers include supernatural experiences not pertaining to a certain
religion. Exorcisms, demon possession, and church cover-ups are typical themes
of Religious Thrillers. Examples: The Devil’s Advocate, The Ninth Gate, The Da
Vinci Code.

Most
thriller are formed in some combination of the above with horror, conspiracy
and psychological tricks used most commonly the heighten tension.
